Jim Knickerbocker, Ph.D.

Manager of Strategic Initiatives

Dr. Jim Knickerbocker has been involved with ACE since 2003, contributing to the curriculum, processes, and organizational structure.  As Manager of Strategic Initiatives he is responsible for developing and delivering ACE’s new initiatives.

He came to ACE from a 15-year career at Hewlett-Packard (HP), where he provided organizational development consulting to HP executives and ran a management consulting practice for HP customers.  Prior to working with HP, Jim was an IT manager and project manager in the financial industry focused on large software development projects.

Jim graduated cum laude from Princeton University with a B.A. in Economics, holds an M.A. in Management from John F. Kennedy University, as well as an M.A. and Ph.D. in Human & Organizational Systems from Fielding Graduate University.  His doctoral work focused on the use of experiential learning to help people adapt to change. He is a member of the American Psychological Association.

He lives in a redwood forest in California’s Santa Cruz Mountains, where he enjoys hiking, camping and taking in great films.
