REASON FOR BECOMING INVOLVED WITH ACE
I currently teach developmental mathematics courses and many of the students enrolled in these courses are underprepared for college. Many of the students in my classes do not successfully complete their mathematics or other courses. Each semester I attempt to include instructional methods and interventions that may help these students be successful but my efforts have not resulted in success for all students. ACE recognizes that students enter college underprepared in many different ways. The ACE classroom environment and curriculum are designed to serve the needs of these students. I am excited about participating in the ACE Institute at Delaware County Community College because I believe that the ACE instructional methodologies will allow me to become the instructor I have always wanted to become and the ACE program will afford underprepared students the opportunity to acquire the tools, knowledge, and skills that will enable them to be successful students.
