REASON FOR BECOMING INVOLVED WITH ACE:
I chose to teach within ACE cohorts as part of my journey to discover more effective and inspiring ways of teaching underprepared students.

PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND:
I received my BA Honors in English from the University of Calgary and my MA in English from Simon Fraser University in British Columbia, Canada. I immigrated to the US in 1998 and lived in Southern California where I taught as an adjunct instructor at College of the Canyons and Antelope Valley College. I was hired as a full-time English instructor and Basic Skills specialist at Cabrillo College in 2000. Since then, I have taught in various learning communities, including the Puente Project.
