Beth Nelson

Program Manager

Beth Nelson, Program Manager for ACE since 2007, oversees ACE’s infrastructure and operations. Beth is dedicated to her work at ACE because, in her words, “We contribute to the creation of a better future for many students.”

Prior to joining ACE, Beth worked as Program Manager and Community Outreach Coordinator for the Center for Justice, Tolerance and Community, a social justice-based research center at The University of California at Santa Cruz. Beth has also served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Costa Rica, a Union Leader for the Hotel and Restaurant Employee (HERE) Monterey local chapter, a worker for the American Diabetes Association, and a volunteer for the Monterey County AIDS Project. While in the Peace Corps, Beth designed an English teacher training program for elementary school students that was piloted throughout Costa Rica via the Ministry of Education.

Beth holds an Masters in International Public Administration, and a B.A. in Spanish, with a minor in Latin American Studies. 

In her free time, Beth is an accomplished athlete. She has completed more than 30 triathlons, including 2 Ironman distance races, 3 marathons and dozens of shorter distance events. She is also an avid snowboarder.
